  1. Prepare 1/2 Cup soaked sago (sabudana)
  2. Make ready 4-5 boiled potatoes
  3. Make ready 1/2 tsp lemon juice (amchoor or raw mango powder)
  4. Make ready 1/2 tsp red chilli powder -skip if you are preparing it for fasts
  5. Make ready 1/2 cup finely chopped coriander
  6. Make ready 1/2 tsp grated ginger (optional)
  7. Make ready as needed Rock salt (sendha namak)
  8. Take as needed Roasted & finely crushed peanut powder (optional)
  9. Prepare 3 to 4 finely chopped green chillies
  10. Make ready as needed Desi ghee(clarified butter)/Peanut oil for deep frying

These fried vadas (fritters) are made with sabudana (sago) and require only a handful of ingredients. Sabudana vada, traditionally an ingredient used during fasts, sabudana is a favourite amongst Maharashtrians. It lends itself to such lovely recipes, such as these vadas! Instructions to make Sabudana Vade:
  1. Combine all the ingredients mentioned above in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Divide this mixture into equal portions and shape each portion flat round or which ever shape you like. Keep these aside.
  3. Heat ghee/ oil in a kadhai and start deep-fry the vadas on a medium to high flame till they turn brown in colour from both the sides.
  4. Drain these vadas on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
  5. Serve these crunchy sabudana aloo tikkis  with fresh curd or chutney of your choice.
